artwords and artsounds student creative competitions artwords and artsounds are annual competitions that cultivate and showcase University student creativity. Students enrolled in classes in the Creative Writing Program and in Music select an artwork on view from the museum’s permanent collection and develop an original musical or literary piece in response. Read and hear the student creations and view the art that inspired them. Peruse other artsounds audio programs related to Weisman exhibitions.
Student internships Student interns work on focused projects in a variety of departments. Students interested in unpaid internships may submit an application at any time. New placements, when available, occur at the beginning of fall and spring semester and in summer. See sidebar quick links for application form. For more information, email Craig Amundsen.
Student jobs The Weisman employs students in our store, visitor services, events, custodial, and other departments. Check the University of Minnesota Office of Human Resources Web site for student job postings.
Become a tour guide The Weisman welcomes students to join our volunteer tour guide group. Guides give tours to visitors of our exhibitions, building, and public art collection. An eighteen month minimum commitment is required. The next training will begin in fall 2009. See sidebar quick links for application form. For more information, email Judi Petkau, Coordinator Youth and Tour Programs.
